My last college fair of 2010

I participated in my last day of fall recruitment travel on Friday and met some wonderful students.  This last college fair took place at the University of Pacific in Stockton, CA.
College fairs are a great way to learn about different universities.  Many college fairs take place during the months of September, October, and November.  If you are a high school freshman - junior, pay close attention to your high school announcements and counselors next September-November for fairs in your area.  Chico always has the brightest students visiting our table, here are some students that were taking advantage of the college information in Stockton.

Chico on the road

During the months of September, October, and November, my admissions colleagues and I will travel across California to help inform students about what makes Chico State so special. We will be visiting high schools and participating in college fairs. We’ll be traveling from as far north as Weed, through many parts of the bay area, and all the way down to Chula Vista. Open the document below to find out if we’ll be in your area.

Ps. If you haven’t checked out Chico’s flash mob on YouTube yet, you should. It’s a great representation of the kind of students, staff, administrators, and faculty we have on campus. It’s a great place!

Spring 2011 Admissions Information

You may have already seen this information on our website and on http://www.csumentor.edu/, but just in case you've missed it, here is the application information for spring 2011.  Happy Reading.

CSU, Chico will accept applications for the spring 2011 semester from fully eligible upper-division transfer students within our service area and credential candidates who are graduates of CSU Chico. The filing period is Aug. 1 – Sept. 27, 2010. Due to unprecedented budget uncertainty, applications are being accepted awaiting passage of the 2010-11 California budget. We will process your application conditionally. This means that NO offer of admission will be made until we know more about the budget, including funding to support an increase in CSU’s enrollment.

Once a budget is adopted, you will be notified of your options:
(1) If the budget provides funding to increase CSU enrollment, we will finalize the review of your admission eligibility for the spring 2011 term.

(2) If the budget does not provide additional funding to increase CSU’s enrollment, you will have the option to either (a) request that your admission application be deferred from spring 2011 to the fall 2011 term or (b) request that your admission application be withdrawn and the application fee be refunded.

You are considered a service-area applicant if, prior to fall 2010, you last attended one of the following California Community Colleges in our service area: Butte, College of the Siskiyous, Feather River, Lassen, Shasta, or Yuba. To be considered for admission to CSU, Chico, transfer applicants must meet the following minimum CSU eligibility requirements:
Complete a minimum of 60 transferable semester units by the end of fall 2010 (no winter intersession work allowed to meet admission requirements); and

Complete General Education requirements in written communication, oral communication, critical thinking, and mathematics with a "C" or higher in each course by the end of fall 2010; and

Possess a minimum 2.0 cumulative, transferrable GPA and be in good academic standing at the last institution attended.

If you have questions regarding the above, please contact the Office of Admissions at 1-800-542-4426 prior to beginning your application.
